To lay the foundation with enough macronutrients, we start with the ingredients that you would normally eat in a meal; chicken, rice & vegetables (or similar). Each mealbar consists of at least 125 grams of chicken, 100 grams of vegetables in their original form by using dried powders.
Step 2: Add natural flavor and coloring.
Leaving it like that would be gross (trust us, we've tried). That's why we made sure to add enough fruits, herbs, and spices to create completely natural flavor and color combinations. Try it, and you'll be amazed by our signiture tastes.
Step 3: Fortify with superfoods.
And if that wasn't enough, we've decided to fortify our bars with even more superfoods, vitamins & minerals so they would really pack a punch. This way you can use our mealbars as your daily supplement stack, now all-in-one. It's all your greens with some extra macronutrients.
Step 4: Bind together with prebiotic fibers.
As for the binding material, we chose a combination of the healthiest ingredients. Where other use tapioca starch (high glycemic impact), we use arrowroot powder, inulin & acacia gum, which are rich in (prebiotic) fibers and have moderate to low glycemic impact. This helps to balance blood sugar and prevent the carb crash.
Some are. We purposely made the decision to offer mainly meat-based mealbars in order to recreate real meals as best as we can. But rest assured, we made sure to also provide plant-based options, which you can recognize by the green 'plant protein' element.
Note: as a vegan, please carefully check the ingredients, because we do use honey as a sweet binding agent, which is strictly not vegan. Apart from that, the plant-based mealbars are completely vegan, and all mealbars are about equally nutritious (and delicious).
Are the bars really all-natural?
Yes, they are all-natural. We use natural ingredients that are (freeze-)dried and pulverized into powder. This allows us to offer the same amount of nutritional value in a smaller package, without compromising on nutrients or taste, and without adding any bad ingredients. So really, all of the good, none of the bad.
How long do the bars last, do they require refrigeration?
Dried food and vacuum sealing provide our bars with a shelf-life of 12 months, even at room temperature. They don't need refrigeration, and can even withstand warm environments for a couple days. You can safely bring them to the beach or a desert hike without it melting or getting rancid. It's the perfect food for a long trip.
Best:
• Storage: Cool & dark for longest shelf-life.
• Shelf-life: 12 months at room temperature.
• Use: Best within 3 months after packing (see wrapper), still good after 12 months.
How many bars can I eat per day?
We recommend sticking to 1-2 mealbars per day, especially when you start eating them. Our mealbars are high in (prebiotic) fibers and other superfoods that improve your gut health. If your gut is not yet prepared for that, it can cause gas and better bowel movements (if you know what we mean...). This is nothing to worry about. It will improve as your gut becomes healthier. Then you can gradually increase the amount of bars you consume on a day.
How long do they keep me full?
Our bars contain enough nutrients to be considered a meal that keeps you full and energized for up to 4-6 hours. We made sure to optimize our recipes so our bars give you a quick energy boost after you consume it, which is sustained over time thanks to protein, complex carbs, fibers and healthy fats. The superfoods help to regulate your blood sugar in order to prevent the 'carb crash'. This way you can keep performing at the highest level without having to worry about your energy levels of nutrients.
